Federal judge María Eugenia Capuchetti rejected the last challenge presented by the complaint of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the case in which the attempted attack against her is being investigated, judicial sources reported.
This is a recusal raised by the lawyers José Manuel Ubeira and Marcos Aldazábal, who expressed doubts about the impartiality of the judge after it emerged that she does academic work through a “job” rented at the Higher Institute of Public Security of the Buenos aires city.
“A challenge was filed against Judge Capuchetti for her dependency on the CABA Ministry of Security, the same one that surrounded my house with fences and did intelligence at my home before and after the attack,” The former president wrote on her social networks on January 9, when she announced the challenge letter,
When responding to the challenge, the judge maintained that the grounds to remove it were not given, as stated in the four-page resolution to which Télam agreed.
“The recusing party invokes academic activities that generate alleged links with local officials, displaying a wide spectrum of issues without further development than their mere mention, without delving into the alleged interest that the undersigned would have and the reason why it should be set aside to understand in these proceedings”, emphasized the magistrate.

Capuchetti’s resolution was signed last Thursday, while This week the investigative statement is expected to be extended to Nicolás Gabriel Carrizo, known as the “boss” of the cotton candy sellersarrested and prosecuted for attempted attack against the Vice President.
Carrizo is considered a secondary participant in the case, whose main defendants are the alleged co-perpetrators of the attack against Cristina Fernández, Fernando Sabag Montiel and Brenda Uliarte.
For the complaint, Carrizo could have had another role in planning the attack, which is why at the time he demanded the extension of the investigation based on the messages found on his cell phone, in which he attributed participation in the murderous plan. .
The first of the challenges raised against Capuchetti, meanwhile, has already reached the Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation, where it was left in the hands of Judge Guillermo Yacobucci.
