The flight of Nadine Heredia Towards the Brazilian embassy in Lima, the prosecutors of the Special Lava Jato team, who today celebrated the conviction imposed on the former lady and her husband, former President Ollanta Humala, for the crime of money laundering, grabbed the prosecutor.
While the third collegiate court of the National Superior Court issued its 15 -year prison sentence against the presidential ex -partner, Heredia was presented at the Miraflores diplomatic headquarters to request political asylum. Only the ex -president attended the trial.
Already in the afternoon, the Peruvian Foreign Ministry announced the maneuver performed by Humala’s wife, without the Peruvian authorities knowing something.
In this regard, prosecutor Germán Juárez, who was in charge of the investigation against the Humala since 2016, told Peru21 that was surprised with the news.
“I am surprised by this situation, but this does nothing but confirm Nadine Heredia’s link with the Government of Brazil, in this case with Lula da Silva,” he said.
Prosecutor Juárez said that in the morning the police went to look for the spouse of the former governor in his home in Surco, but this was not.
In his accusation, he evidenced with testimonies that the Lula da Silva government supported the Humala campaign in 2011 by requiring the Odebrecht company to transfer money to finance proselytizing activities.
It was US $ 3 million that the Brazilian company granted and that served to make Humala Tasso win the elections in that year. The resources came from box 2, the construction area of the construction company, and were never declared as fertilizers before the ONPE.
