Juan Fernando Quintero issued a statement through his social networks, supported by the law firm David Gutiérrez Lawyers and Consultants SAS.
In this message, Quintero distances himself from his uncle’s actions and emphasizes his absolute rejection of the events that led him to prison. The statement highlights:
«Juan Fernando Quintero, as a family father and public figure, rejects, condemns and repudiates the events that led to the capture of Mr. Alexander Quintero. As a practicing citizen, he demands prompt and effective justice that punishes in accordance with the political constitution and the law.
Quintero clarifies that criminal responsibility falls solely on the individual involved, making it clear that it should not extend to other family members.
