Juanes offers a preview of his album and revolutionizes the way of listening to music

Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes became the first Latin artist to offer an exclusive preview of his upcoming album in a Dolby Atmos Music-equipped car as part of Latin Grammy music week.

“It is an honor to have been selected as the first artist to participate in this incredible collaboration; something that will allow me to share my music and message in a new and impressive way”, said Juanes during his presentation.

The singer-songwriter was grateful that with “this new technology, and with the support of Apple Music, Dolby, Mercedes-Benz and Universal Music, my fans will be able to enjoy my next album the way I always imagined and intended it to sound.”

Juanes presented a preview of his upcoming album in a Dolby Atmos-equipped Mercedes-Benz alongside key members of the media and tastemakers.

The album, #11, which is “scheduled for release in 2023, was mixed in Dolby Atmos and optimized for the extraordinary sound experience in cars,” reported the alliance firms for this innovative initiative in the music industry.

The album preview was presented exclusively through the expansive audio lens of Dolby Atmos and guests were treated to an immersive sound experience, with unparalleled clarity and depth, as he showcased the scope of Juanes’ vision with his new music.

“Dolby Atmos music marks a new milestone in the way fans can enjoy music, in its purest form, as close as possible to how the artist envisioned it,” said Jesús López, President and CEO of Universal Music. Latin America & Iberian Peninsula.

He stated that “this technology now available in cars completely changes the playing field. Today we are proud that Juanes, one of the most innovative Latin artists of all time, is the first to present his next album in this format”.

“It’s amazing to see artists continue to use Dolby Atmos to push the boundaries of what’s possible. This album is a great example of that artistic significance,” said Christine Thomas, director of Music Partnerships at Dolby Laboratories.

Global Studios & Technology President of Operations Michael Frey said, “We’re thrilled to be working with Juanes and our friends at Universal Music Latino to deliver an incredible listening experience that offers audiences a fantastic-sounding album that gets even closer to to the creative vision of Juanes”.

Juanes released the single “Amores Prohibidos” on November 10, which represents -according to the artist- the beginning of a new musical creative cycle. This track reveals his reflective inner journey during the pandemic to re-examine life, love, family, and his own emotional complexities.
