The Ministry of Education reported that in the 2022 term, a total of 31,775 students did not receive the Juancito Pinto bonus, and that uncollected amount will be reverted to the CUT (Single Treasury Account), so that it forms part of the financing of the same bond in the 2023 administration.
Last year, according to the data from this State portfolio, 2,284,610 primary, secondary and special education students benefited from this school voucher, a figure that reaches 99% of scheduleaccording to the Ministry.
These figures were released by the Minister of Education, Édgar Pary, during the Final Public Accountability Act – 2022, which took place in the city of Potosí.
“The bonus Juancito Pinto of this last year was carried out with the accompaniment of our departmental, district and educational unit directors, who displaced the logistical part to reach the most remote educational units in the country, we highlight this work”, indicated the national authority.
In Santa Cruz, the payment of the same began during the first days of the 36-day strike.
About the incentive
The Juancito Pinto bond equivalent to Bs 200 per student, It was paid in more than 50 financial entities and mobile banking brigades were also deployed with the support of the Armed Forces and education authorities, to reach the most remote places in the country.
Although the budget assigned for the payment of the Juancito Pinto bond in 2022 was Bs 473,470,000, from the Ministry of Education they detailed that 2% is used in operating expenses, in accordance with the aforementioned decree 4807, that is, Bs 9,469,400. In addition, they indicated that Bs 723,600 were used for contingencies.
They stressed that the remainder, Bs 6,355,000 (money not collected by students)will be reversed and will go to the Single Treasury Account and will be used in the 2023 administration for the payment of the bond.
ABI indicated that, according to official data, in Santa Cruz, 624,349 students benefited, in La Paz 559,856, and in Cochabamba 424,843. Similarly, in Beni it reached 122,696 students, in Chuquisaca 118,336, in Oruro 113,378, in Potosí 180,725, in Tarija 110,672 and in Pando 29,755.
The universe of schoolchildren in the country is 2,316,385.
