Juan Pablo Grass ceased to be technical director of Independiente Petrolero from Sucre. The leadership of the capital club couldn’t take it anymore and after the third consecutive defeat, they dismissed him from his duties. The last one was against Always Ready (1-4) on Wednesday night.

“We thank Professor Juan Pablo Grass for his delivery, commitment, professionalism and dedication to the Club, before as our goalscorer and later also as a coach. We wish him much success in his future projects, this will always be his home ”, the club published on its social networks.

Grass becomes the first technical director, who is fired for poor results in this 2023 season in Bolivia. The three presentations he had so far (two for the Tigo League and one for the Cup) ended in defeat.

In their debut against Royal Pari they fell 2-1 in Santa Cruz, while at home they were thrashed by The Strongest (1-4) and Always Ready (1-4) at the homeland stadium. In the three games he conceded 10 goals and his strikers converted three, two of them from penalties.

With the departure of Grass, the leadership has begun to shuffle names, among them sound, the Chilean Rodrigo Venegas, who already directed ‘Inde’ in 2022, Álvaro Guillermo Peña, Víctor Hugo Antelo and the Argentine Flavio Robatto.

The name of the chosen one is expected to be known in the next few hours. Independiente must play on Saturday, February 18, against Oriente (8:00 p.m.) in Santa Cuz for the Professional Division League.
