Juan Marte afirma que el alza del peaje no amerita subir el pasaje

  • Juan Marte revealed that the Government allocates 3 and 4 billion pesos to avoid price increases in public transportation.

Santiago. – The president of the National Confederation of Transport Workers (CNTT), Juan Marte, rejected an increase in the price of the ticket in public passenger transport as some driver leaders of the various routes in the country intend to implement due to a probable increase in the cost of tolling by the government.

Marte said that there are fundamental reasons why there is no increase in fares in the suburban and interurban transportation sector of public transportation in the country.

“First, the increase in the toll is not significant enough to produce an increase in the fare and secondly, the government has handed out hundreds of millions of pesos religiously to the companies that operate transportation,” he assured.

He revealed that the authorities have given hundreds of millions of pesos religiously to companies so that the price of the ticket remains accessible to the population.

The country’s transportation leader assured that the Government allocates between 3 and 4 billion pesos so that drivers do not affect users of public passenger transportation.
