From his Twitter account, Guaidó expressed that the only thing Venezuelans are looking for is “refuge to save their lives in what is the largest displaced person crisis on the planet, due to the dictatorship”
Juan Guaidó, president of the AN in 2015 and recognized as interim president by a group of countries, asked the international community this Sunday, October 16, to provide “humanitarian treatment” to Venezuelan migrants who “flee from the emergency.”
“We ask for humanitarian treatment and that it be understood that Venezuelans did not migrate because they wanted to, but because they were obliged: they are fleeing an emergency,” Guaidó said through his account in Twitter.
Regarding the actions implemented by the United States with the aim of controlling the wave of Venezuelan migrants, he pointed out that “the decision of each country to set its migration policy in the face of the challenge of Venezuelan migration is sovereign and represents challenges.”

Likewise, Guaidó stated that the only thing Venezuelans are looking for is “refuge to save their lives in what is the largest displacement crisis on the planet, due to the dictatorship. Stopping this human landslide goes through achieving the recovery of democracy and that Venezuelans can return.
Let no one forget: our brothers seek refuge to save their lives in what is the largest crisis of displaced persons on the planet, due to the Dictatorship.

Last Thursday, October 13, the Acting Undersecretary of the United States Department of Homeland Security, Blas Nuñez-Neto, urged Venezuelans not to cross their border with Mexico, or else they will not be eligible for the benefits offered by the administration of Joe Biden.
This after the announcement of the US government agreeing to accept up to 24,000 Venezuelan migrants at US airports, while Mexico agreed to receive Venezuelans who arrive illegally in the US by land, both North American nations reported on Wednesday.
Effective immediately, Venezuelans who walk or swim across the border will be immediately returned to Mexico under a pandemic-related order known as Title 42, which suspends the right enshrined in U.S. and international law to request asylum, with the argument of preventing the spread of covid-19.
