Juan Bautista Guevara offers his services as a teacher to survive “civil death” imposed by Ortega

The professor and ex-politician Juan Bautista Guevara Carballo 42 years old, originally from the municipality of Ticuantepe, he has been besieged by the Police for more than three years at the service of the Daniel Ortega regime.

In statements to Article 66the Mathematics and Physics teacher denounced that due to the onslaught of the dictatorship since his release on February 28, 2019, he has been unable to work.

«This situation in which I find myself is difficult; It is a civic death that I live. It is impossible for me to be able to work, due to so many difficulties that as a released prisoner I am going through », he pointed out.

The former political hostage, who lives in the Buenos Aires neighborhood, has evidenced the constant police siege he suffers at the hands of the Ortega Police, who do not cease “surveillance” against him, for which he fears being kidnapped again.

Offer private lessons to survive

Faced with “civil death”, as Bautista Carballo has described, the former hostage of the regime offers his knowledge in Mathematics-Physics, as well as his experience in pharmacy to be able to survive and support his family.

“At all times the Police follow me, they are watching me, which has truncated my way of subsistence (…) I want to find a way to survive, how to work so as not to be in a difficult situation because my family needs the bread of each day,” he remarked.

“There are many basic expenses, such as paying for water, electricity, food, medicine and so many other expenses in the home, That is why I offer my professional services to teach mathematics and physics, both in primary and secondary schools. I can also teach basic math for students who are in college.” Professor Guevara explained.

He also said that he is available to do private jobs such as painting houses, maintaining green areas “or any other activity outside my experience as a teacher.”

“Since 2019 when I left those dungeons, to this day I am unable to work or mobilize, but I know that with God’s help we will get ahead,” he stressed.

He also lamented the forced migration of many opponents in order to save their lives, however he points out that in his case he has not been able to do so because he does not have financial resources, “but I am still in my country, with my head held high, always with the spirit of continuing forward, with that vision that soon all this ordeal that all Nicaraguans are going through will end with the help of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the one who protects us, cares for us, blesses us and is our shield and strength to live day by day. ».

The opponent is one of the dozens of former political prisoners who continue to suffer the repression unleashed by the Ortega dictatorship. Currently Ortega has intensified his harassment against all Nicaraguans who do not support him.
