In an official ceremony held at the Government Palace, President Pedro Castillo swore in Juan Rodo Altamirano Quispe as the new head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). The official replaces Patricia Ocampo Escalante.
As recalled, the Board of Directors of Parliament announced that it flatly rejected the question of confidence presented by Aníbal Torres for a project of the Executive on the referendum, after which the head of the Ministerial Cabinet submitted his resignation.
In this regard, the Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Alejandro Salas, affirmed that the interpretation of Castillo Terrones’ message to the Nation is that Parliament has denied confidence in the Executive Power.
“The president has said it in his message to the Nation, I think it has been made clear. The interpretation of the message to the Nation is that, that confidence in the Executive Branch has been denied and that is why the cabinet is in crisis”, he referred to RPP News.
In this sense, Salas remarked that the now ex-prime minister Aníbal Torres went to Congress to request a vote of confidence and has received a response “whose literality is the flat rejection of the question of confidence.”
“On the basis of that, the Executive Power -in this case the President of the Republic- has interpreted it that way and has given the message to the Nation accordingly.”, stressed the head of the MTPE.
