Pando was left without a team in the National Futsal League, because Joyas Sport lost the category by not showing up for their match against La Prensa de Yacuiba over the weekend, in a match that was key to their claims of not being relegated.
In the first leg, played in Cobija, La Prensa had won 3-4. The rematch had to be played on Saturday night, but Joyas Sport did not show up for the match and suffered the regulatory walkover.
“He did not show up, he was given a walkover and therefore lost the category. They had economic problems to be able to travel”, said Errol Mendoza, president of the Bolivian Futsal Commission.
The picture became clearer with the loss of category of the Pandino team, since the other teams that fight not to descend, Nantes de Tarija and Antofagasta de Sucre, will play the indirect one.
Nantes and Antofagasta, will face the second and third in the Simón Bolívar Futsal Cup, since the champion will have direct promotion to the National Futsal League.
Simón Bolívar is the second division of Bolivian futsal and the final phase began on Sunday in Sucre, with the participation of eight teams.
