At the age of 80, and after convalescence due to respiratory problems, the renowned journalist Rodolfo Schmidt died.
«My husband Rodolfo Schmidt left us this Sunday. He is already resting and is in ‘the heavenly tavern’ where he said his friends were. He left us a great journalist, a gentleman. Rodolfo Schmidt, a graduate of UCAB, had a long and successful career in the country’s media. His journalistic sharpness was registered, among others, by El Diario de Caracas, Economía Hoy; Daily Report of the Economy, and El Globo.
The National Association of Journalists (CNP) mourned Schmidt’s death and highlighted his professional career.
«We learned of the death of the journalist colleague Rudolf Schmidt with whom we shared years of journalism without censorship or media closure and radio and TV were free sources of information. Before the arrival of this unfortunate robolution where even Chávez spoke in them », wrote the journalist Nelson Bocaranda on his Twitter account.
For her part, the journalist Ibeyise Pacheco he claimed: “Today my journalism teacher left Rudolf Schmidt.
