Journalist Robert Vargas, from Ciudad Oriental.com, dies

The journalist and director of the portal Ciudadoriental.com, Robert Vargas, died this Friday after suffering health problems that kept him confined in two medical centers for more than a month.

Vargas, 65, died after suffering several pre-heart attacks in the Intensive Care Unit in the early hours of the morning, at the Elohim Dominican Medical Center.

In that medical center he was diagnosed with metabolic encephalopathy and other complications.

Robert Salvador Ramos Vargas, full name, was born in Santo Domingo on August 15, 1957. Married to fellow reporter and lawyer Cinthia Polanco, with whom he had no children.

From a previous marriage he had Atahualpa, Dinorkys and Amaya, as well as several grandchildren.

The remains of Robert Vargas will be exhibited at the Gresefu funeral home on Las Américas Avenue, starting at 5:00 PM
