Colombian journalist Juan Roberto Vargas spoke this Thursday on Radio Panama about the electoral days in Colombia, legislative and primary elections in the coalitions to elect candidates for the presidency of the country, which will be held this Sunday.
He stated that what will take place this Sunday in Colombia are the primaries of the parties and the election of the new Congress of the Republic. “This is on paper, but the political reality is that in the political history of Colombia we have never experienced an unprecedented situation like the one we are experiencing today, where the election of those presidential candidates from three coalitions that signed up to participate in these internal consultations it is more important than the congressional election,” he said.
He said that what is at stake is a kind of referendum to define the political course that Colombia is going to take.
“Colombia this year has these primaries that practically become the first presidential round because there are three very different coalitions, fighting among themselves, especially in one that is the center and turned out to be the most bellicose. The new president of Colombia will come out of these three coalitions,” said the communicator.
