“A cordial dialogue, where we exposed our views on Cuban reality and the necessary aspects to achieve the freedom of our people,” Acosta wrote On Facebook.
Speaking to this newspaper, the independent journalist said that the meeting was an opportunity to “meet” and in which both Hammer and Goodman showed interest in listening to their guests.
“The position of us was the one we have always maintained, pressure to the Cuban regime. We make these criteria clear, that the Cuban regime cannot be given oxygen; That what Biden did during all this time, with the issue of support for MSMEs and the alleged private venture in Cuba was that, giving oxygen to the dictatorship, ”said Acosta.
Likewise, the young activist highlighted the need for sanctions and “hard hand” against the dictatorship, as well as the importance of supporting internal opposition and political prisoners on the island.
When talking about the future of Cuba and some possible transformations that could be stumbled, Camila Acosta alerted about the concern of a “fraud change” within the Castro dome, a term for which the ambassador showed interest and debated in depth.
“Fraud change” could be defined as an emerging survival strategy of late Castroism to issue signals to the administrations of USA and European Union.
They would be signs of substantial changes in the political system, which serve as masquerade to dialogue with a possible opposition built and manipulated by the intelligence organs. With this operation, the regime would try to reduce the pressure on itself and oxygenate during its agony.
“We even talked about last year, the previous officials had turned their backs a little to the internal opposition,” added the journalist.
