One of the most prominent columnists in Brazil, Anna began her career in 1971 in the magazines Manchete and Pais&Filhos. The journalist also worked at the newsroom of O Estado de São Paulo, in Rio, and, between 1977 and 1990, she was editor of Coluna Carlos Swann, in the newspaper O Globo, She left there to work in the column of Zózimo Barroso do Amaral, in the Jornal from Brazil (JB). In 1982 she went to O Dia and together with Fred Suter she signed a column in the newspaper. In 2000 she returned to JB and, at the same time, created the website that bears your name.

In a message, the nephew and also journalist and columnist Guilherme Amado informed that the wake of Anna Ramalho will be from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Carmo Memorial, in Caju, in the port region of Rio.

On her website, in May, the journalist announced the discovery of two tumors in her left lung, which she called militiamen. “The cancer news was given to me on May 3, the same date I was baptized, 73 years ago, the day I was reborn as a Christian. Today, May 30, closing the month of Maria, beautiful sun, unparalleled luminosity and mild temperature, I’m still full of hope for the first day of treatment ”, she revealed.

Although shaken by the news, the journalist was confident in the fight against cancer. “I suffered too, I won’t lie. I was shaken. But I’m already dusting off quickly. The important thing is to get well, to keep fighting to expel these bandit militiamen who are not going to take my territory under any circumstances,” she commented.

Still on the website, Anna said that she even questioned whether she should write about such a delicate and personal problem. It was her niece Clara who convinced her.

“I don’t intend to be the influencer of cancer, the lacradora of the disease, showing myself on the networks, collecting likes – today, it all boils down to that, right? Poverty, lots of weird people and weird habits in a fake, surreal world. But I know that I can help within my unassuming network of followers and I intend to do so by writing some chronicles on the subject. If all goes as I hope, I’ll be able to leave my impressions while I complete the six-week schedule scheduled for the cure. Never abandoning the good mood, I promise”, he said.

In a text, the journalist thanked the family for their support. “I am a blessed person, I am sure of that. In addition to being surrounded by skills on all sides, I have an amazing family, albeit small. My son Christiano, Carol, my daughter-in-law, who if she were a daughter she wouldn’t be so perfect; my Beautiful Antonia, who leaves everything to sleep with her grandmother during the week; my little Olivia, supporting with love and smiles. My sister, Bel, is my safe haven, my soulmate – and my nephews, Clara and Guilherme, Flávio and Bia, plus the little ones Alice, Gustavo and Júlia, blessings that I received. Love much”.
