Journalism of Excellence Award 2022 announces its finalists

The Journalism of Excellence Award, founded by the Alberto Hurtado University (UAH) in 2003, announced its finalists on Monday.

“We feel that this selection will remain in the memory of the country as an example of the contribution of journalists and media to Chilean democracy. Each jury expressed itself firmly, clearly and openly to listen to other opinions and arguments”, commented the director of the contest, robert herrscher.

“In the end, texts published in the media and made by journalism students, audiovisual products and digital works that represent the variety of topics and styles were chosen,” he added.

This year’s guest at the awards ceremony is the Peruvian writer and journalist Gabriela Wiener, who belongs to the group of new Latin American chroniclers. To their participation is added the presence of Mely Reyes as a representative of the Governing Council of the Gabo Foundation, the only Venezuelan on the list of the 30 most influential intellectual women in Latin America.

In this twentieth version of the awards, four talks will be held within the framework of The Week of the Best Journalism, exceptional instances around these 20 years and which culminate on the day of the ceremony, to be held on April 26 at 7:00 p.m., in which the brand new winners will be announced.
