The Panamanian Baseball Federation announced this morning in a special act the selection of Veraguan baseball player José Mordock as the “Most Valuable Player” of the 80th Senior National Championship, Panama Mayor’s Cup in honor of Benjamin Wood.
Mordock was the winner after receiving 77.77% of the weighted vote, which is the sum of 100% divided between the sports press (60%), fans (30%) and the Board of Directors of the Panamanian Baseball Federation (10%).
After this designation, Mordock takes a zero kilometer car of the Changan Auto brand, Hunter model, valued at 25 thousand dollars, courtesy of the official sponsor company and that for the fourth year delivers a car to the Most Valuable Player of the Major Championship.
Breaking down Mordcock’s weighted vote, he obtained 36 of the 40 possible votes from the sports press, sweeping the most votes, he also obtained 7,223 fans and the 6 votes of the Board of Directors, to widely dominate the votes.
Allen Córdoba from Bocas del Toro was second in the voting after getting 2 votes from the sports press, 537 from the fans, 0 from the Board of Directors of the Federation for 4.02% in the weighted vote.
Harold Araúz from Occidente was third with 2.9% of the weighted vote and Luis Ramos from Darién fourth with 1.93% of the weighted vote. Both received only 1 vote from the sports press.
