José M. Murià: Marches and more marches

The seventh National Search Brigade begins in Morelos

José M. Muria

No.

We have taken seriously the convenience of exercising and under any pretext we Mexicans proceed to undertake marches.

There are several types: from those that travel hundreds of kilometers to reach the capital of the country and make the legitimate protest felt for one reason or another, to the more convenient ones that march without moving from place in a comfortable and well wooded neighborhood.

Such was the case, in Jalisco, of the solidarity with the National Electoral Institute (INE) and the excessive number of legislators we suffer from, which the fifis tapatíos. This was an interesting March that brought together, after mass, a good contingent of older people who greeted each other with great pleasure for having survived the calamity of the pandemic that wreaked havoc on this sector of the population.

It should be recognized that in Mexico City the displacement had greater content thanks to the fact that they chose a single speaker, but in Guadalajara, where he approached the rostrum -before some 10,000 attendees- a considerable number of speakers, we must regret that they predominated stupidity and ridicule. It was an excellent example of the intellectual misery that prevails in the Jalisco opposition to the government of López Obrador. The truth is that the brilliant opponents of yesteryear who emerged in the ranks of Acción Nacional were conspicuous by their absence.

But that is not the only disagreement that shines in the Jalisco environment: for the second time in a few years there is a confrontation between the University and the state government. We still have in mind the bickering of the last governor of the whiteblue that ended with his pathetic surrender when he went to sit, in an inconvenient state, on the lap of Raúl Padilla López, the undisputed university leader. Remember that said governor, also inspired by the abuse of the jughe saw fit tell the mother with all his letters to those who did not commune with him.

The current governor, based on a sector of the political party called Movimiento Ciudadano which, in Jalisco, is nothing more than a PAN disguised by virtue of the enormous discredit of its acronyms and colors, but at the service of the same social sector as the one marched in favor of the INE the other day, has been hitting the University in its budget, which has given rise to the consequent reaction of the highest house of studies with protests of various kinds. The last of these was the gigantic demonstration on November 23 that filled from boat to boat the so-called Plaza de la Liberación, also known as del Two of Cups, which is the largest in downtown Guadalajara and surrounding areas. It is said that 145,000 protesters gathered there.

Unlike the previous protest by the conservatives, at the end of this demonstration, by the way hindered by crude actions of the government of the jaliscienses There were few good speakers, among whom the brand new president of the Federation of University Students stood out, a girl of great lucidity who contrasted greatly with the leaders of the old FEG, prior to 1990, plagued by gorillas who even became rectors.

Finally came, of course, the gigantic demonstration in support of President López Obrador that overshadowed all the others, however, it is clear that Mexicans breathe in different ways and it would be worthwhile to encourage dialogue, before we end up slapping each other in the face. against others.

The icing on the cake in the sabotage that the governor of the FIL tried to carry out, an activity well loved everywhere that gives great prestige to all of Mexico. The suspicion was fulfilled and the Executive backfired.
