The Third National Criminal Appeals Chamber of the National Superior Court admitted the appeal of the defense of Jose Luna Morales and scheduled the hearing for next Wednesday, November 2.
As recalled, on October 10, the Seventh National Preparatory Investigation Court issued 34 months of preventive detention against the virtual mayor of the Municipality of Lima.
The arrest warrant against the son of José Luna Gálvez, owner of the Podemos Peru party, was issued within the framework of the investigation against him for the alleged crimes of criminal organization and specific active bribery.
Luna Morales is accused of allegedly paying bribes to register the Podemos Peru party with the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) and was arrested after giving an interview on a radio station.
According to the tax thesis, the criminal organization would have captured the former ONPE official José Luis Cavassa with the purpose of irregularly registering Podemos Peru. In addition, he would also have interfered in the decisions of some members of the deactivated National Council of the Judiciary (CNM).

The Public Ministry maintains that former members of the CNM Guido Águila, Iván Noguera and Julio Gutiérrez would have been paid to lead the ONPE selection process in 2017 and Adolfo Castillo Meza would be named the winner.
According to the Public Ministry, the objective of Castillo Meza’s appointment as head of the National Office of Electoral Processes was to achieve the fraudulent registration of Podemos Peru.
It should be noted that the judicial hearing will take place that day from 12:30 p.m., in Room 2 of the Carlos Zavala Loayza building.
