The President of the Republic, José Jeríparticipated this afternoon in the tribute to the Lord of Agony, patron saint of the province of Pisco, outside the Tempo de Belén, in the center of this southern city.
From there, he said that “these moments must allow us to reflect, have the enlightenment, the wisdom that those above us give us and must give us to be able to move forward and build what should always be: that we be a true nation, a true country, united, and overcome any type of problem that will arise, because there will be problems, the issue is always moving forward,” he said.
Likewise, he said that his mother was born in Pisco and that, therefore, he lived there for many years. In his childhood, he attended various religious activities of this sacred image.
“As the son of a Pisqueña, for me it is an honor to be here with you sharing devotion, beliefs. I hope that the Lord of Agony guides us and gives us the strength to move forward,” said Jerí.
After receiving the invitation from the members of the Brotherhood of the Lord of Agony, he loaded the litter. He also received some gifts before starting the mass, in which local authorities participated.
