The President of the Republic, José Jeríarrived this Friday in the city of Cajamarca to develop a series of official activities with his work team.
The president was received at the Armando Revoredo Iglesias airport by regional, provincial and district authorities, as well as members of the Armed Forces who paid him the corresponding honors.
Jerí arrived accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Vicente Tiburcio, and by the heads of the different military branches and the National Police of Peru (PNP), who are part of the delegation in charge of supervising security, infrastructure and inter-institutional coordination issues in the region.
During his stay at the air terminal, the head of state received a detailed report on the improvements and modernization works that are being carried out at the Armando Revoredo airport.
The works include interventions aimed at optimizing operations, expanding capacity and reinforcing air safety, with a view to improving the connectivity of Cajamarca with the rest of the country.
Official sources indicated that the president showed special interest in the continuity of the works and in guaranteeing that the execution deadlines are met without delays, given the impact they have on the economic and tourism development of the region.
After the inspection, the president participated in the raising ceremony of the National Flag held in a central square of the city. The event was attended by local authorities, civil and school representatives, as well as members of the Armed Forces.
