A series of clashes between protesters and National Police officers have occurred throughout the night in the march called by youth groups, which has left several protesters and police officers injured.
Given the acts of violence recorded by the cameras of the Municipality of Lima, which captured how a protester lit a Molotov cocktail and threw it at the police, President José Jerí spoke out through his social networks.
“A small group intends to alter the peaceful will of those who have taken to the streets today to express themselves. This behavior only seeks chaos and violence in our country,” he said.
In addition, he supported the National Police, which has been dispersing the protesters who, hours before, set fire to bars that protected the Congress of the Republic.
