The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) informed the population that the prevention and monitoring warning for the displacement of tropical wave #4 over Panama is maintained until this Monday, June 6.
José Donderis, former director of Sinaproc, expressed on Radio Panama that the Hydrometeorology Directorate of the Electricity Transmission Company, SA (Etesa) announced that the incursion of the tropical wave during the next 12 to 36 hours will activate the atmospheric systems of the region for which it will generate new periods of rains and significant storms in all the provinces, counties and maritime sectors of the country.
He added that these Etesa forecasts foresee significant accumulations of daily rainfall that could reach between 30 mm to 80 mm of water per square meter.
He recommended that people be aware of these alerts issued by Etesa in short periods and avoid being or traveling through vulnerable areas where heavy rains occur.
