SANTO DOMINGO.- The member of the Political Committee and Legal Secretary of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Jose Dantes Diazformally announced this Wednesday his aspirations for senator of the National District.
In this sense, through a press conference held at the Holiday Inn hotel, the political leader expressed his intention to run for the Senate of the National District for the PLD, stating that it is not a sudden decision, but that it is a A project that has been maturing for a long time, remembering that he began his political career at the age of 18 and did so motivated by the desire to contribute to the benefit of the country and, above all, to serve the people. “Since then, every time I have had the opportunity and the privilege to demonstrate that dedication to service, I have given my best,” he said.
He stated that the National District needs a senator who goes to Congress to work and who reflects his commitment to promote bills that are needed and that can really improve people’s lives, such as a water law that guarantees access to water as a fundamental right, as opposed to a project that circulates and that does not benefit the majority. Or a law that regulates the quality of public services, so that they are up to the needs of the people; a law that strengthens the legal representation of victims and another that establishes mechanisms to guarantee compliance with the judgments of the Constitutional Court.
Dantés expressed that it is time to put an end to the practice of taking advantage of laws that society needs to sneak provisions that only benefit power elites, as has been tried to do with the public trust law, while affirming that the District Nacional deserves a senator who understands the current problems and offers solutions; “A senator who does not have double discourse, who does not shut up before power because he bothers his political bosses. May he keep his word and not change his position in the face of political ups and downs; a senator who speaks the truth”.
He informed that his political project will be broad, open and plural, in which there will be room for all those who believe in politics as a public service and as a tool for transformation, and will be integrated by members of the PLD, by representatives of social and community organizations, by merchants, businessmen and all the citizens of the National District who wish to have a senator who always listens to the people and who sincerely represents them, not only during the campaign, but even more so after winning the elections.
The political leader stated that his goal is to be the senator that so many people from the capital were waiting for. The one who is present in the sectors and in the neighborhoods every time it is necessary and not only in circumstantial circumstances. A senator who goes beyond speeches, who moves away from populist poses and temporary trends on social networks. A senator who demonstrates in practice, with facts, his genuine concern for the inhabitants of the National District
