Luis Echeverría Álvarez died and some shabby remains of a substantive section of Mexico’s history ended up dying with him: that of the Mexican Revolution (RM), with its light and frightening dark. The date of death for that stretch was October 2, 1968; the historians of the future will say to Mexico its last word. The bearer of the lace, Luis Echeverría -qualified by Gustavo Díaz Ordaz-, died after the political and economic system that he himself finished off.
