CHANGSHA, Popular Republic of China.- The energy advisor of the Senate of the Dominican Republic and senior leader of the Christian Social Reform Party (PRSC), José Balaguer, highlighted the privileged position of RD to lead the energy transition thanks to its enormous potential in renewable resources, such as sun, wind, water and biomass.
To this is added an increasingly aware society that the energy of the future must be clean, accessible and sustainable.
During his speech at the opening speech of the “Clean energy development and construction seminar” Organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Powerchina Zhongnan Corporation Limited, Balaguer stressed that in recent years the RD has taken important steps towards this objective.
However, he said that the challenge requires constancy, long -term vision and firm international cooperation to consolidate a more fair and resilient energy model.
In his inaugural speech, Balaguer thanked the Chinese people for hospitality and recognized the strategic value of this space.
“This encounter is not just a technical seminar; it is an act of faith in the future and a real cooperation bridge between our peoples to build a cleaner, resilient and fair energy system,” he said.
In that context, the words of his descendant President Joaquín Balaguer recalled: “The protection of nature is not a luxury, but a moral obligation towards future generations.”
He stressed that this thought is still in force and must guide national development planning, always hand in hand with the preservation of the environment and the intelligent use of natural resources.
Valued the president’s efforts, Luis Abinader Coronafor promoting the energy transition within national public policy.
He pointed out that under his conduction, new regulations have been approved, establishing incentives for private investment that foster solar, wind and hydroelectric energy projects, with which the country advances towards a cleaner, resilient matrix and capable of responding to the challenges of the 21st century. ”

Balaguer assured the Chinese authorities that the knowledge acquired by the Dominican delegation during the seminar will be put at the service of the country, and will result in concrete actions, policies and projects.
“This will not be an effort in vain. What has learned here will contribute significantly to the construction of a more fair, more sustainable and better prepared energy system to face global challenges.”
Military Parade and Peace
At the end of his statement, José Balaguer referred to the commemorative military parade of the 80th Anniversary of the Chinese victory in the Resistance War, headed by President Xi Jinping:
“That historical parade must be interpreted as an act loaded with meaning. First, it represents a tribute to the memory of Chinese citizens who gave their lives for the defense of national sovereignty.
Secondly, he sends a clear message to the Chinese people: they can feel calm because their government has the means to guarantee their peace and stability. And thirdly, communicate a message to the world:
“China is not only present in the international stage, but it is with the vocation to actively collaborate for world peace and tranquility,” he proclaimed.
