It has been an honor for me to receive from the Benemérita University of Oaxaca its highest academic recognition, an honorary doctorate, for my work in defense of democracy in Mexico. For this reason, I take this opportunity to thank the rector of this university, David Zabdiel Martínez Pérez, and its honorable academic faculty, for considering my career to grant me such an important distinction.
