The mayor of Valparaiso, George Sharpissued on February 2, within the framework of a session of the Municipal Council, a controversial comment to the community chief of Quintero, Mauricio Carrasco. “Have a good time with the contamination,” she said, after a councilwoman criticized Valparaíso’s Preventive Patrol Program and compared it to a similar initiative by Quintero.
“If we are going to implement a Preventive Patrol Program, let’s do it well, let’s take the Providencia commune, Las Condes, as an example. And if the answer that they are going to tell me, which I have more than clear, that these communes have greater resources than us, well, in the Quintero commune, which is not a commune with high resources, this project has been being applied for years, which not only works on inspection,” said the councilor marianela antonucci (RN).
Antonucci pointed out that “Senda, Sernameg, Office of Attention to Victims (…) It would be interesting to review this from the Quintero commune” are also involved in the Quintero project.
Next, Mayor Sharp responded. “Well, after Councilwoman Antonucci’s destructive comment, about which I can say little because there is nothing interesting to comment on, I want to close the City Council. We will see each other again on November 28… February ”, he commented.
“I want to support the work that the officials of the municipal patrol system have done, who have been working this month. We have an agreement signed, or about to sign, with OS-14 of the Carabineros. In fact, the Carabineros, at the communal security council that councilor Antonucci did not attend, was happy with the coordinated work we have,” Sharp said.
“Clearly there are things to improve, we are starting (…) I do see the municipal patrols walking, the ones I do not see are the police in the Valparaíso plan, I say that with all responsibility and I hope that we can do that improve,” he continued.
“Let’s build, not destroy. The right wing and the DC have already destroyed this city for 30 years, now is the time to move it forward. Happy holidays everyone,” she later said.
Finally, at the closing of the session, Sharp said: “Thank you very much and we have all the programs that Quintero has, and twice as many. Greetings to the mayor of Quintero, that he does well with the contamination.”
