From the Bolivarian High School Pedro Elías Gutiérrez de La Guaira, the president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted how through the Law of Student Participation in the Basic Education Subsystem, elaborated by the young people, they told the empire “they won’t stop us.”

Accompanied by the board of directors of the AN, Brigade 256, made up of deputies from the Parliamentary Bloc of the Homeland and other parliamentarians elected in the entity; the governor of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán; José Manuel Suárez, mayor of the Vargas Municipality; the Minister of Education, Yelitze Santaella and other authorities, Rodríguez went to the educational center to present the Student Participation Law recently approved, the president of Parliament stressed that the norm that was “worked on by the students. A Law for the integration and unity of educational communities », he said.

Jorge Rodríguez highlighted how “for the first time in Venezuela we have approved a law that was elaborated in all its articles by the students».

The parliamentarian and leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) told the young people present at the meeting that “it was against them that the United States government and its allies implemented the sanctions and the blockade and it was you (the young Venezuelans) who have told the empire: ‘the future is ours, and they will not stop us’”, highlighting the resilience of the students who have endured the ravages of the illegal blockade.

In a VTV broadcast, the deputy could be seen participating in a recreational day with the high school students where he even played table tennis with the youngsters, and in various chess games, prior to the day of street parliamentarianism in which the deputies They collected the proposals emanating from the popular power and the interest groups involved in the development of educational activity in the state.

Revolutionary student vision

The representatives of the Parliament, the national Executive and the state and municipal governments were received by the young student Jon Cleiver Ballesteros, student spokesperson, who highlighted that the elaboration, discussion and approval of the Student Participation Law in the Basic Education Subsystem marks “ a historical fact; a before and after for students from all over Venezuela”, and invited to reflect on the participation that high school students and students had in the instrument.

Ballesteros referred to how each high school and each student was listened to in their concerns for the elaboration of the legislation, and made special emphasis on the ecosocialist content of the Law “the article that mentions the environmental part, article number 15 that talks about the rights environmental issues” and stressed the importance of students participating in a leading role “in each of the educational institutions.”

The president of the Venezuelan Parliament pointed out how “before (the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution), the students were seen by the governments of the past as enemies. Today they are seen as a voice that can express itself freely in Venezuela,” he said.

He pointed out that it is “a law for each of the concerns. Based on that law (on student participation), whoever wants to create that group can join as a student organization. You will be the voice of yourselves,” he said.

The deputy recalled that before the laws were prepared by large law firms that responded to the interests of bankers and other power groups, “lawyers who for a certain amount of money made laws to favor the rich,” he said.

He pointed out the great difference… here we are (parliamentarians) reporting to you that you were the drafters of that Law… to whom the Law was taken… article by article so that you (the students who made contributions to the Law) would know it ».

He referred to the ease with which the high school students spoke of the instrument and compared it with the mastery of the subject that any deputy of the AN has.

He listed that the Law is designed for the integration of the educational community, unit of students, teachers, parents and representatives and national, municipal and state authorities.

He referred to how the Bricomiles (Military Community Brigades for Education and Health) were an instrument for the restoration of educational units such as Pedro Elías Gutiérrez de La Guaira, which was a victim, like the entire educational system of the country, of the criminal blockade “to end , to stop the way of you (the students) towards the future».

«Today you are giving an answer to those who tried to end the future by telling them: ‘the future is in each heart of each chest of each student of this high school’ and of the millions of secondary education students there are. throughout Venezuela,” he said.

Fight against exclusion and violence

For her part, América Pérez, second vice president of the AN, referred to how the Student Participation Law in the Basic Education Subsystem deals with avoiding and preventing violence and mistreatment in the classroom, because it offers the opportunity to participate in any movement student or any initiative in high schools across the country.

Pérez urged the students to empower themselves with the instrument and put it into practice and invited them to visit the Federal Legislative Palace, in Caracas, to exchange ideas and get to know the Parliament.

Aura Pineda, a student at the Republic of Ecuador high school, pointed out that the law prioritizes the right to participation of everyone to join any social movement within the high schools, which will prevent exclusion.

In the activity of Street Parliamentarianism are the regional authorities of the state of La Guaira, as well as Brigade 256, which is made up of the deputies of the Parliamentary Bloc of the Homeland.
