Jorge Rodríguez met with the president of Colombia

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, in which he ratified Venezuela’s intention to advance the cooperation agenda with Colombia.

This was reported by the parliamentarian through his Twitter account in which he published “Pleasant meeting with the President of the Republic of Colombia, Gustavo Petro. We extend the greetings of our President Nicolás Maduro to advance the cooperation agenda with the New Granada nation.”

The meeting took place on Sunday in the framework of the inauguration of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, at the Planalto Palace, Brasilia.

This is confirmed by a Presidential Press tweet which states that “the strengthening of Venezuela-Colombia relations are reflected in the meeting held by the president of the National Assembly @jorgerpsuv and the president of the New Granada nation, Gustavo Petro, at the inauguration of President Lula da Silva».

In the video inserted in both tweets, the president of the National Assembly can be seen talking with the Colombian president and greeting Foreign Minister Álvaro Leyva.

After Petro came to power in Colombia on August 7, 2022, the governments of both countries have worked to reestablish relations.
