“They are white and they understand each other,” said the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, pointing out that “this adventure -by Juan Guaidó- had an expiration date, they knew it was impossible to sustain no matter how the most powerful country in the world that endorsed that barbaric fantasy, even though it is the most arrogant government that the history of the United States has known -the Trump government- it was completely impossible to support a man who claims to be the president of a country from the condominium meeting room of the building where he lives”.
During an interview with the A Pulso program broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the president of Parliament said that only “a ruthless government and astonished at reality like that of Donald Trump” would have thought of placing “an idiot” in a square public to swear himself in as the supposed president of a country that does not exist “like the one in Narnia” where the attacks against Venezuela began in two ways:
On the one hand, justify through this “pantomime” all kinds of aggressive action against the country. “They stole our gold in England, they stole our Citgo, Monomeros, they stole our oil, money from Venezuela that is in foreign accounts; money that we need for medicines, so that the people can live normally, justified theft from that farce called the interim government.
And on the other hand, a massive robbery operation was started “that at some point the Biden administration will have to take a look at.” Where the USAID delivered millions of dollars to a group of NGOs, to Juan Guaidó, Leopoldo López, Julio Borges who “simply stole them.”
Likewise, Rodríguez highlighted the theft of assets in the country by the opposition, in this regard he stated that: “The people of Venezuela stood firm in the face of the attacks.”
«An operation of continuous theft of assets that belong to the people of Venezuela (…) This disastrous and dark tragicomic adventure that started in January and February of the year 2019 already in the month of April the defeat was clear. That the people of Venezuela had remained united around their Constitution, united to their constitutional government with a monolithic Armed Forces,” he said.
Rodríguez pointed out that the biggest mistake of the North American and Venezuelan extreme right “is to believe their lies about an illegal leadership.”
“I believe that they are paying the consequences – the opposition – for having made such an abysmal mistake, as they made mistakes in the practice of Venezuelan politics,” Rodríguez affirmed.
He reiterated that the strength of the Bolivarian Government is the Constitution of the Republic and respect for the popular will “in all its aspects and edges from the Communal Council that makes a decision and must be increasingly empowered until the electoral processes that are taking place on country”.
He affirmed that the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, does not need legitimization from the opposition, since he was democratically elected by the people of Venezuela.
In terms of dialogue, Rodríguez pointed out that this process with the different oppositions in Venezuela was “arduous and important (…) it allowed the formation of social agreements.”
