During the swearing-in of the Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committees in the state of Anzoátegui, the vice president of Communication and Electoral Affairs of the Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Jorge Rodríguez, stated that Venezuelans are willing to defend peace, but not “that of the lambuceo extremists, who are watching the rulers of the United States of America lick the soles.”
«We do not want the peace of those who kneel, of silence, of those who want to hand over the Homeland. “We will defend peace with the same force that we will defend true independence, national sovereignty, our right to be free forever, bequeathed to us by the Liberator of America, Simón José Antonio Bolívar Palacios y Blanco,” he stated.
He said that a lot of blood has been shed to honor independence. «Yesterday marked the 236th anniversary of our hero of the state Anzoátegui, of the hero of Boyacá, José Antonio Anzoátegui; Are we, the grandsons and granddaughters of José Antonio Anzoátegui, going to dare to betray his legacy? “Never, we are going to defend it even with our lives,” he stated.
A party that transcends
Rodríguez pointed out that it is necessary for the party to transcend “individual leadership so that collective leadership can come and be consolidated.”
He said that an example of the exercise of collective leadership has been the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro. «At every moment and at every situation, the first thing he does is say: let’s meet, let’s discuss, let’s make a decision. And he could have kept the leadership that he has earned by defending this republic, this people and this peace. But on the contrary, the formation of these Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committees is his proposal.
He said that now people will know that “on their same street, in their same neighborhood and urbanization, there is the PSUV to reach out to those who suffer, to the sick, to take care of the grandmother, the boys and girls, to review the block to relate it definitively with communal power for the construction of a new era, of communal democracy, of a true democracy.”
He noted that it is necessary to transcend the times that remain in the past, in terms of belonging to one sector or another. “We are a single force, a single voice, the communes are the voice of the Psuv.”
He stressed that it is necessary to grow in training and information.
«Imperialism always seeks disinformation for psychological warfare. There are two ways to defeat her; The first is by informing yourself with the truth and defending it, the second is permanent mobilization. Here no one stays at home (…) we are all going to defend our country, to defend it from the brutal aggression of the North American empire,” he said.
He stressed that it is impressive how the Anzoátegui state achieved 100% of the call for the formation of the Base Committees.
