In the afternoon of this Saturday, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, initiated the solemn session on the occasion of the 206 years of the installation of the Angostura Congress to which the President of the Republic came, Nicolás Maduroregarding presenting the constitutional reform project and delivering the National History Award.
Rodríguez said that the elliptical hall, where the session was held, “has witnessed the fundamental elements of the creation of the Gran Colombian and Venezuelan homeland and that pays tribute to our heroes.”
He said that when developing the session in the “historical and holy enclosure” it is possible to strengthen “more and more the presence of the immortal legacy of Simón Bolívar and the heroes of American independence, and also to pay tribute to our act of independence that We ratify us that we will be free and independent forever. ”
He said that “beyond those who, in their status as a state , we know what the immortal picture of the battle of Carabobo means, the immortal picture of the Battle of Ayacucho, which gave the American freedom and the painting to our front that symbolizes the signing of independence ”.
Rodríguez said that “we are then and consequently very happy to be here today, just as we were on January 10, taking an oath of the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, citizen Nicolás Maduro Moros.”
After reading the corresponding vocative, the president of Parliament appointed a commission made up of deputies Jesús Faría, Tania Díaz, Nicia Maldonado, Dricardo Molina, Bernabé Gutiérrez and Timothy Zambrano to accompany and bring President Nicolás Maduro to the aforementioned site of the solemn session.
