Since then, the family relationship of the eight children of the ‘Nightingale of Cesar’, apparently, has deteriorated to the point of cutting off communications. All on account of the millionaire inheritance left by the artist, which according to Omar Oñate, one of the singer’s sons, would be around 20 billion pesos.
This money is represented in real estate and livestock farming, one of the passions of the late performer of countless hits such as “I did not understand your love”, “Wilted Woman”, “Sunrise Valley”among others.
Of this figure, 50% corresponds to his wife Nancy Zuleta and the remaining money to the children left by the Vallenatero.

That is to say, ten billion pesos would have to be distributed among eight people, but apparently, some do not agree with that distribution.
This was announced by Omar Oñate in dialogue with the station Tropicana Stereo.

The eldest son of ‘El Jilguero’ assures that three children from his father’s marriage with Nancy Zuleta, do not want to give him the “extramarital children” participation in the inheritance.
“There was no reconciliation regarding the distribution,” said the artist’s eldest son.
According to his account, he speaks on behalf of his brothers José Jorge Oñate Canales, Jorge Luis Oñate García, Gina Oñate Araujo, Jorge Antonio Oñate Dangond and Juan Pablo Oñate Palencia.
The other group are the children of the marriage: Jorge Luis Oñate Zuleta, Delfina Inés Oñate Zuleta and Jorge Daniel Oñate Zuleta.
One of the children of the couple nicknamed “El Huracán”, told his brothers “there is no conciliation and the money is not delivered… more words, less words.”
