In a hearing before the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations (SAC), the former mayor of Lima Jorge Munoz confirmed his version of having received a call from Vice President Dina Boluarte to intercede for the Apurímac Departmental Club.
“The truth is that I don’t remember the dates, but it was done through Mrs. Boluarte’s phone, to the institutional phone that I had at that time, it was a cell phone,” he said.
Muñoz explained that Boluarte’s telephone communication “It was so that I could attend to her, in reference to issues related to the Apurímac club.”
Yes ok the former mayor attended the request for the meeting, this meeting was not attended by Dina Boluarte, but by a lawyer, whose name he doesn’t remember either.
In said meeting, the lawyer made reference to the management carried out before the municipality of Lima so that they grant the operating license of the aforementioned club.
To support his version, Muñoz also referred to a file processed before the commune, where there is also the signature of the vice president.
“Mrs. Boluarte signed this file, did the paperwork to obtain an authorization to operate the Apurímac club and I understand that those were the reasons why he called”, he asserted.
The file in reference has the number 55817 and it was processed on April 7, 2022; that is to say, when Boluarte was already exercising the positions of vice president of the republic and minister of state.
During yesterday’s hearing, Martha Moyano tried, for the second time, to block the interventions and questions of the lawyer Alberto Otárola, who exercises the defense of the vice president. The Fujimori’s request was not accepted by the president of the SAC, Lady Camones.
The delegate legislator of the case, Edgard Reymundo (Democratic Change), now has until November 8 to present the final report.
Boluarte faces two constitutional complaints, for carrying out procedures on behalf of the Apurímac club, when I was already vice president.
The opposition in Congress seeks to take advantage of this situation politically to disqualify her and remove her from office. In this way, there would only be peter castle, whom they also seek to vacate or suspend.
Fight for ‘The Children’ case
The president of the SAC, Lady Camones, appointed the Fujimori Ernesto Bustamante as a delegate to prepare the final report of the ongoing complaint against Popular Action legislators Raúl Doroteo, Juan Mori, Jorge Flores, Darwin Espinoza, Ilich López and Elvis Vergara. The Free Peru bench, however, asked that the case be taken over by José Balcázar.
