The lawyer and pre-candidate for deputy for free application, Jorge Iglesias Bloise, referred to Bill 99, which intends to revive double salary for mayors, corregimiento representatives and alternates, which is an initiative of the PRD deputy Javier Sucre.

Said document revives the figure of the double post for local authorities, with a modification to Law 37 of 2009, which decentralizes public management in the country.

In this sense, Bloise expressed that Sucre, who was elected as a deputy and representative, “I understand that what is not enough for him is the support to pay his expenses for the current month with the salary of a deputy and he wants to use the salary as a representative.” .

He added that the Sucre family has been governing the Juan Díaz corregimiento for more than 30 years, while “today he wants to propose that double salary be charged again because he considers that the salary is not enough for these people who were elected because they can do nothing else charge one.”

He said that with this action, in this country the deputies believe that Panamanians are mere spectators and we are not capable of acting.
