The Argentinian Jorge Correa became the hero from Oriente Petrolero when he scored the goal that gave his team the victory against Blooming by 1-0. The goal came in the 95th minute, when referee Ivo Méndez was preparing to whistle the end of the game.
“Yes, it could have happened, but the important thing is that everyone can convert and we can win it much sooner, because we had the chance, but sometimes you have to suffer until the last minute”, Correa said.
The 196th classic was played on Sunday night at the Tahuichi Aguilera stadium in Santa Cruz, where the midfielder made his entry in the 87th minute replacing the Uruguayan Hugo Dorrego.
“Thanking God for this opportunity, for scoring a goal, for giving us this victory, is his purpose, as well as my family who is always there, and all the beautiful people. Also thank the fans who supported us all week, that support was felt, giving them this victory that they deserve it”, added the Argentine.
Correa is sure that the Albiverde team deserved the victory despite being one man down from the 61st minute, due to the expulsion of Hugo Rojas.
“The first half we had several occasions within the area that we could not specify, then they expel us to play and there we had to make much more effort. Thank God at the last minute it happened for me, due to a play by the dwarf Henry (Cow) who gave it to me and I was able to define it”, he expressed.
Oriente has already set its sights on its next game, which will be on Wednesday against Real Santa Cruz, on date 20 of the Clausura tournament. The meeting is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Tahuichi Aguilera stadium.
