Jorge Chávez Airport adds a new direct route Lima-Barcelona

Lima Airport Partners (LAP)operator of Jorge Chavez International Airportwill incorporate a new direct and non-stop route between Lima and Barcelona, operated by the airline LEVEL, which will begin operations on June 3, 2026, with three weekly frequencies.

With this addition, Jorge Chávez International Airport strengthens its direct connectivity with Europe and expands the offer of intercontinental flights from Lima, adding a new alternative for tourism, business and family travel passengers.

Level will be the only airline that will offer direct flights between Lima and Barcelona. The route will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with schedules designed to facilitate international connections in both Europe and South America, contributing to the diversification of the commercial offer for more passengers.

“Today we celebrate this new connection between Barcelona and Lima, which is much more than an air route: it is a bridge that opens opportunities for economic and tourist revitalization. We are convinced that this new connectivity will boost mutual growth: Barcelona, with its innovative and Mediterranean spirit, and Lima, with its cultural, historical and gastronomic wealth,” said Lucía Adrover, Chief Commercial & Network Officer of Level.

Level is the airline of the IAG group (International Airlines Group), a parent company that integrates companies such as Iberia, British Airways and Vueling. Based in Barcelona, the airline offers a competitive offer of intercontinental flights with affordable rates and a personalized experience under its Fly Your Way concept.

Its fleet operates with Premium and Economy cabins, adapting to different traveler profiles, and concentrates its direct flights from Barcelona to destinations in the United States and Latin America. Since its creation, Level has positioned itself as an attractive alternative for those seeking operational efficiency, a modern fleet and flexibility in their travel experience.

Thanks to Level’s network of alliances, passengers will also have greater connection options from Lima to destinations within Peru and, from Barcelona, to more than 75 destinations in Spain, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

International connectivity

This new route is incorporated into the network of international destinations operated by the Jorge Chávez International Airport, in a context of infrastructure expansion and sustained strengthening of the country’s air connectivity.

“The opening of this new direct route between Lima and Barcelona reinforces the international connectivity of Jorge Chávez Airport and expands travel alternatives for passengers who choose our airport. At Lima Airport we value Level’s commitment to the Peruvian market and reiterate our commitment to continue attracting new international players who see Jorge Chávez as an attractive development platform,” said Norbert Onkelbach of LAP.

This announcement is the result of sustained promotional work to strengthen international air connectivity, led by Mincetur, through Promperú, in strategic spaces such as Routes World, the main global meeting of airlines and destinations.

In this framework, representatives of the Vice Ministry of Tourism and Promperú hold technical meetings in which key indicators on the potential of the Peru destination are presented, with the aim of increasing air connectivity and facilitating greater access for international tourists to the country.
