Civil police officers from the Police Station for Repression of Crimes against Intangible Property (DRCPIM) carried out this Wednesday (5th), in a joint action with the Division of Surveillance and Repression of Embezzlement of the Federal Revenue, Operation Chucky against the sale of counterfeit toys in the camelódromo and other shops in downtown Rio. In all, more than 3 tons of children’s products were seized.
The toys were found in inspected commercial establishments, all with evidence of counterfeiting of famous brands. It is estimated that the seized products are valued at up to R$ 1 million. The action was carried out due to the proximity of Children’s Day, celebrated on the 12th.
The seized articles will be sent to the technical expert and, later, destroyed.
