Monreal receives Ken Salazar

Monreal spread the meeting on Twitter, where he posted a photograph with the US official and the message: “In order to maintain a good relationship with the US, our neighboring country, I met with Ambassador Ken Salazar. The analysis of foreign policy is one of the exclusive faculties of the @senadomexicano”.
The Morenoite senator stated that he discussed various issues on the bilateral agenda such as migration, international trade, the relationship between Mexico and the United States, and the next inter-parliamentary meeting.
“We talked extensively a few days ago and today that he has spoken, not only respecting the decision of Congress, but also supporting the president’s reasons (to propose changes in electricity), it helps a lot to build a broad agreement that benefits, not harms. nor does it generate inappropriate conditions for the economic sector and foreign investors,” he said.
The activism of US officials occurs in the framework of the discussion on the Mexican electricity reform proposed by López Obrador, on which the United States and Canada have expressed their concern about the investments made in Mexican territory within the framework of the Free Trade Agreement of Free Trade America (T-MEC).
Part of the discussion about the electrical reform is based on the supposed implications of an eventual brake on the generation of clean energies and a boost to the generation of electricity with the burning of fuel oil.
