The Minister of the Presidency, Joel Santos, said that in the midst of the crisis generated by the pandemic, the Government has generated the necessary trust to maintain peace and social order that other countries have not achieved.
“The trust that this country has generated, compared to other countries, is fundamental,” he said, highlighting as evidence of this the record of almost 4 billion dollars in foreign investment in the Dominican Republic during the pandemic.
Being interviewed on the radio program “The Direction of the Morning”, which is broadcast on 98. FM, Santos stressed that the Government works coherently under a policy of trust, growth and stability in search of national development.

With a little more than a month in office, the official denied that a reduction to 4% of GDP for Education is contemplated and assured that the emphasis placed on this sector will continue in its different aspects.
“The Government recognizes that education is one of the sectors in which it must continue to invest, as well as health and infrastructure, they continue to be the central elements from the point of view of public spending,” he explained.
Likewise, Santos specified that both police reform and citizen education to combat crime continue to be a priority for government authorities.
He added that insecurity has always existed, but currently access to the media and information through various platforms means that the population is more up-to-date with regard to events.
