Joe Biden to announce $800 million in military aid to Ukraine

US President Joe Biden will announce a new military aid package for Ukraine for around 800 million dollars on Wednesday.

With the new aid, the assistance announced by Washington to kyiv in the last week will rise to 1,000 million dollars.

Last Saturday Biden had authorized 200 million dollars in additional military equipment for Ukraine, which was added to the 350 million authorized on February 26 by Washington.

The US outlet The Wall Street Journal noted that the aid package will include Javelin anti-tank missiles and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles.

Since the arrival of Joe Biden to the presidency in January 2021, the US has given 2,000 million in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Biden’s announcement will be the same day that the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will address virtually before both chambers of the US Congress; this being the second time that he has addressed US legislators in less than a month.

Zelensky’s calls for the US and NATO to deal with Russia’s military operation have been increasing, urging them to provide military equipment, including planes as well as a no-fly zone.

Joe Biden has ruled out the no-fly zone warning that it could spark a war with nuclear weapons from Russia.
