The National Board of Justice published today the draft Regulation of the Procedure for Partial Evaluation of the Performance of Judges, Judges and Prosecutors so that public and private institutions and citizens in general can send their comments and contributions virtually. The deadline is November 16.
With this call, the JNJ seeks the pronouncement of public opinion and the academic and legal community, who have a period of ten business days to send their contributions and comments by email: [email protected].
The project contains 33 articles, 9 chapters and 4 complementary, final and transitory provisions and, according to the document, “It enables an evaluation that adapts to the different contexts and needs in which judges and prosecutors carry out their activities”.
The JNJ, by constitutional mandate, it must evaluate the judges and prosecutors at all levels of the justice system every three years and six months in order to assess their suitability for the position.
This evaluation is different and independent from the comprehensive evaluation and ratification procedure that occurs every seven years, however, its recommendations are taken into account in the latter.
