The National Board of Justice (JNJ) suspended for 30 days the former prosecutor of the Nation, Zoraida Avalosafter resolving that he appointed Carla Bourdieu, daughter of his comadre María Zavala, as deputy superior prosecutor of Piura.
Zoraida Ávalos’s action was described as a “serious misconduct” during the hearing held on December 16. The lawyer Inés Tello argued in her report that there is a “serious conflict of interest.”

“He did not keep blameless conduct”
The National Board of Justice It specified that, despite the fact that there was no special procedure for the appointment, the current Supreme Prosecutor “did not maintain impeccable conduct, when appointing the daughter of a person with whom she had amical and comadrazgo ties.”
Both Judge Tello and the rest of the members of the Board, José Ávila (president), Imelda Tubialán, Guillermo Thornberry and Antonio de la Haza agreed that Ávalos failed in his established duty, for which reason they concluded the disciplinary process with the aforementioned sanction imposed.
