JNJ specifies that the only degree that has qualified the Nation’s prosecutor is Doctor of Laws

The National Board of Justice (JNJ) specified that the only degree that has qualified the Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, is Doctor of Law, which is duly registered with the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (Sunedu).

Through a statement, said body said that within the framework of the calls under its charge, it qualifies the degrees issued by the country’s universities and recognized by the competent authority.

He recalled that article 45 of the University Law, referring to master’s and doctor’s degrees, stipulates as a requirement the obtaining of the next previous degree, that is, it is required to have a bachelor’s and master’s degree, respectively.

“It should be specified that said requirement must be verified by the university at the time of granting the corresponding academic degree”says the standard cited by the National Board of Justice.

Finally, the JNJ called on all the political and social actors, “full respect” the legitimate exercise of the autonomy and independence of the institutions that make up the justice system, as a guarantee of the constitutional rule of law.

As it is recalled, last Tuesday the 16th the president of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torresreiterated his questions against the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavidezwho is in charge five investigations against President Pedro Castillo.

“How are we going to improve if we don’t say that it’s not right that the prosecutor’s office investigating Los Necks Blancos, that tremendous corruption in the justice system, has been dismantled? How are we going to keep quiet about that fact, that the prosecutor who is investigating the sister (of the Nation’s prosecutor) be removed?”he stated.

The prime minister questioned the National Board of Justice (JNJ) by mentioning that magistrates who have obtained their master’s and doctorate degrees have been appointed “impossible”.

“You have to learn to tell the truth. The holy scriptures say that you have to tell the truth, but if you tell the truth, the attacks come. How are we going to improve the justice system if we don’t tell the truth? How are we going to improve if the National Board of Justice appoints magistrates who, for example, have obtained their master’s and doctoral thesis practically at the same time?questioned this Tuesday.

“Here we are in a university. Is that possible? That’s impossible”added Torres Vásquez during a meeting with local authorities and civil organizations for the development of Tingo María, in San Martín.
