The National Board of Justice (JNJ) reported that, during the citizen participation stage corresponding to the Individual Comprehensive Evaluation and Ratification Procedures, 19 written complaints submitted by citizens were received. This process involves 300 judges nationwide who have more than seven years of service.
The purpose of this stage was to allow citizens to submit duly supported complaints about the conduct and suitability of the 121 judges and 179 prosecutors included in this call.
Currently, the Evaluation and Ratification Directorate of the JNJ is processing and verifying the admissibility requirements of the complaints received, with a view to advancing to the next phases of the procedure. These include the evaluation of the documentation presented by the judges and the approval of the individual comprehensive evaluation and ratification reports, whose deadline ends on July 24, 2026.
The JNJ reaffirmed its commitment to continue promoting actions aimed at strengthening the suitability and ethical commitment of the judges of the Judicial Branch and the Public Ministry, for the benefit of citizens.
