The president of the National Justice Board (Jnj), Gino Ríos, sent an office to the prosecutor of the nation, Delia Espinozato replace Patricia Benavides in the position of Supreme Prosecutor during today, August 7, 2025.
In the document, Ríos Patio maintains that the 60 -day suspension that the entity responsible for appointing and dismissing judges and prosecutors imposed on the former nation of the Nation and that therefore there is no impediment for Benavides to return to the Public Ministry.
The head of the JNJ also questions that Espinoza Valenzuela dilated the reinstatement of Patricia Benavides to the institution by formulating observations to the resolution that ordered his return as prosecutor of the nation.
After exposing these foundations, Gino Ríos urged that Benavides resume his position in the Public Ministry in the next few hours.
“The indicated shows the repeated breach regarding what is resolved by the JNJ, which is why we urge to comply in the day with the reinstatement arranged in order not to continue generating an unfortunate situation of legal insecurity,” concludes the document.
Benavides requested his immediate reinstatement
Hours before, Patricia Benavides issued a statement in which she asked the Prosecutor’s Office to cite it to immediately resume the position of Supreme Prosecutor.
Benavides was enabled to return to the Public Ministry after last July 31, the Permanent Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court annulled the 24 months of suspension imposed by the investigations against them that are ongoing in the course of the case “The White Necks of the Port”.
