The National Election Jury (JNE) will hold this Monday, January 31, at 9:30 a.m., the draw to designate the third member of the Central Lima Special Electoral Jury (JEE-LC), a body that will be installed for the 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections.
The draw will be held in a virtual public hearing that can be followed by citizens through the digital platforms of the JNE and channel JNETV (516 of Movistar).
A list of citizens drawn up by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status enters into said lottery (Renieck), from a random selection among people whose ages range between 35 and 70 years, have the highest level of education and reside in the area where the JEE will operate (Cercado, Breña and Jesús María).
In accordance with legal procedures, this list was submitted to a five-calendar-day blackout period (from January 21 to 25), in which any citizen could object to any of the members of the relationship.
This Monday the 31st, the first person to be drawn is designated a regular member of the JEE-LC and the next person becomes the first alternate. The other citizens on the list also acquire the status of substitutes, according to the order obtained.
Thus, the citizen who is drawn will join the JEE-LC, as a third member, together with the representative of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima and the Board of Superior Prosecutors of Lima, who will act as president and second member, respectively.
It is expected that said electoral body will begin functions on February 7, to deal with cases of electoral propaganda, state advertising, neutrality and surveys that are generated at the national level, until the installation of the rest of the bodies of this nature that will operate in the elections this year.
It should be noted that the results of the draw will be published on the institutional portal of the JNE (www.jne.gob.pe).
