Decision in the first instance can be appealed by the lawyer of Guillermo Bermejo and the former Minister of the Interior of Pedro Castillo.
The National Directorate of Registry of Political Organizations (ROP) of the National Elections Jury (JNE) declared unfounded, in the first instance, the complaint filed by the lawyers Raul Noblecilla and Luis Barranzuela against inscription of the Peruvian Aprista Party. The lawyers filed an appeal against the request of the APRA “in contribution to the democratic health of the country”.
Noblecilla, attorney for the congressman Guillermo Bermejoand Barranzuela, former Minister of the Interior of the former president Pedro Castillofocused their criticism on the statute of the group, which, they argue, does not comply with the provisions of the Political Organizations Law on the eradication of harassment against women, parity in lists and the existence of provincial committees.
However, the director of the ROP, Fernando Rodriguez Patrondismissed the three arguments because it considers that the APRA statute does conform to current electoral regulations.
For this reason, Rodríguez Patron decided to “continue with the registration procedure requested by the political party Partido Aprista Peruano.”
Raul Noblecilla and Luis Barranzuela They can appeal the decision. If this were the case, the appeal would be resolved by the plenary of the National Elections Jury, an instance that is presided over by the supreme judge Jorge Luis Salas Arenas.
Second strikeout against APRA
The former president of the Council of Ministers in the government of Alan García and Aprista leader Jorge del Castillo reported that there is a second blemish against the registration of the Peruvian Aprista Party. Once the blemishes have been overcome, the Registry of Political Organizations will proceed to formalize the return of APRA as a political party.
